We help students run events on the DPRK. Engage Korea’s flagship activity is our conferences.
To enable in-depth debate, we primarily hold or sponsor conferences that are off-the-record, but these events are open to all interested individuals. We invite accomplished academic and non-academic experts to share their knowledge and experience with the attendees, but we also support 6-8 student presentations at each of these events.
First Engage Korea conference:We successfully hosted our first conference on the theme: How can the international community effectively engage North Korea? at Oxford University in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2013, gathering more than 100 speakers and participants.
Engage Korea’s second conference: This took place in Dec 2015 at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
Consulting: We used our experiences to provide logistical and consulting support for students at Harvard to run a conference on the DPRK. Our first big consulting project was in September 2014 at Harvard University in the United States. We sponsored the North Korea Study Group at the Kennedy School of Government and the Students for Global Health at Harvard Medical School to put on this event.
